Double Homicide in Augusta: Tony Horne Arrested After Man and Woman Found Shot Dead

A 46-year-old Augusta man, Tony Horne, has been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred early Wednesday morning on Mystic Lane in Augusta. According to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Horne was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

Richmond County deputies responded to a shooting call in the 3000 block of Mystic Lane just after 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man and woman who had been shot at least once inside their home. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a double homicide. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, pending notification of their next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled, according to the coroner’s office.
