Fatal Crash in Tennessee: Driver Attempts to Evade Repossession, Collides with Tree
Nashville, TN – A desperate attempt to prevent vehicle repossession ended in tragedy on Monday, November 25, when 51-year-old Timberly Martin fatally crashed into a fallen tree on a closed section of Briley Parkway.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Martin’s Infiniti was being repossessed when she suddenly accelerated away from the scene. Despite attempts by law enforcement to stop her, Martin evaded two traffic stops before entering the closed roadway.
The section of Briley Parkway was shut down due to crews clearing a large fallen tree from a previous accident involving two vehicles. Disregarding roadblocks and warnings, Martin drove past officers and into the restricted area, colliding with the tree “at a high rate of speed,” according to police.
Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is under investigation by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
