Woman Fatally Struck by Freight Train in South Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA – A 32-year-old woman, identified as Liliana Martinez-Soberano, was fatally injured after being hit by a freight train in the South Los Angeles area on Monday morning.
According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. near East Florence Avenue and Graham Avenue. Martinez-Soberano was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is currently under investigation, with authorities examining various factors that may have contributed to the accident, including train personnel error, track failure, mechanical malfunction, signalman error, and reckless actions.
Experts emphasize the importance of independent investigations in train accident cases. “Train crashes are often complex, and a skilled attorney can protect the family of a victim from train companies that may try to defend their negligence,” said Candice Bond, a seasoned train accident attorney.
The family of Liliana Martinez-Soberano may be entitled to a wrongful death claim, pending the results of the investigation. Survivors of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
