Alabama Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on Alabama 35
Cherokee County, AL – A fatal two-vehicle accident occurred on Alabama 35 in Cherokee County on Wednesday, November 27, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
A 1994 Nissan pickup truck collided with a 2023 Nissan Altima, resulting in critical injuries to the pickup truck’s driver, 58-year-old Gerone L. Evans from Summerville, Georgia. Evans, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle during the crash.
Evans was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Nissan Altima, 55-year-old Debra J. Mitchell, and four passengers, including two toddlers, were taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is continuing its investigation into the incident.
