Double Homicide Investigation Underway in Arlington, Texas, After Two Teenagers Fatally Shot
Arlington police are investigating a double homicide that occurred at an apartment complex adjacent to AT&T Stadium, near the Cowboys stadium. The incident happened on Saturday night at approximately 10:22 p.m. at 600 Slaughter Street.
According to authorities, officers arrived at the scene to find an 18-year-old woman, identified as Alexis Tyler, and a 19-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, both victims succumbed to their injuries.
The male victim had reportedly booked the apartment through a short-term rental platform for the weekend. Neighbors expressed shock and concern over the incident, stating that while there are several short-term rentals in the complex, they have not previously experienced violence of this nature.
Witnesses reported seeing a group fleeing the unit after the shooting and departing in a vehicle. No arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing. Arlington police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Residents are hoping that this incident will be an isolated event rather than a trend for their neighborhood. “This is typically a very quiet complex,” said neighbor Melanie Palmer. “Even with the Airbnbs in the area, we rarely experience any disturbances or issues.”
The Arlington Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation. Anyone with information can contact Detective Dixon at (817) 459-5579 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
