18-Year-Old Raheem Dawheims Fatally Shot in South Columbus Incident

A tragic shooting occurred on the south side of Columbus on Friday, claiming the life of 18-year-old Raheem Dawheims. According to the Columbus Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting on the 2900 block of Southfield Drive at 1:01 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Dawheims suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Grant Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at 1:32 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that another adult male at the scene claimed responsibility for the shooting, stating that he acted in self-defense after being assaulted by Dawheims. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
