Fatal Four-Vehicle Crash on Merritt Parkway Claims Life of 85-Year-Old Frank Brantner
A devastating multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Merritt Parkway in New Canaan, Connecticut, on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of 85-year-old Frank Brantner from St. Petersburg, Florida. According to Connecticut State Police, the incident took place around 3 p.m. near Exit 37 on the northbound side.
Collision Details
Brantner’s 2015 Lexus 350 RC collided with the rear of a 2020 Kia Forte, driven by a 38-year-old man from Norwalk. The Kia was decelerating in the right lane behind a Ford F-150 pickup truck when the collision occurred. Following the initial impact, the Kia struck the pickup truck and a GMC Sierra traveling in the adjacent left lane.
Response and Aftermath
Upon arrival, first responders found Brantner unresponsive, and he was later declared dead at Norwalk Hospital. The driver of the Kia reported minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
