Accokeek Woman Loretta Canter-Andrews Killed in Hit-and-Run Incident on Indian Head Highway
A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred on Friday evening in Accokeek, Maryland, claiming the life of 40-year-old Loretta Canter-Andrews.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, Canter-Andrews was struck by a vehicle on Indian Head Highway near Farmington Road at approximately 9:50 p.m. on November 22. Patrol officers responded to the scene, where they found Canter-Andrews in the roadway with critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Canter-Andrews was hit by a driver heading northbound on Indian Head Highway. The driver failed to stop and render assistance, fleeing the scene instead. Police are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved in the incident.
